Has anyone had experience with mini-ITX boards such as the ION-ITX-B? Wondering how they'd fare as a myth box? Tiny form-factor would seem ideal...

I'm interested in that board too. Looks like some folks are starting to work with it:

If you check the mythtv-users list, there has recently been talk of the single-core version of the Zotac ION board. It seems the single core with VDPAU is ample for a frontend only.

I'm interested in getting that myself. I'm thinking of setting up a diskless frontend.

Need to find a tiny case for this thing. This case seems to be a good choice:

Discussion from xbmc forum discussing this hardware:

I'm looking to throw in either a thumbdrive or bootable flash card. I would think 2 or 4 gig card should be enough for a frontend?

Please keep us updated on how it goes.
Thanks

Amazon has the Zotac Ionitx AU for $189:

$20 cheaper than Newegg. Get them while they'll still in stock. I just ordered mine.

Even though we're on the precipice of the switch to R6, and hopefully VDPAU, I haven't been able to find any information on the compatibility of VDPAU and R5.5...

Anyone?

You can get it to work... however it's not easy. You will have to manually install the nVidia drivers, disable KnoppMyth's nVidia boot detection and compile everything you want to use VDPAU with. Here is a starting point.

I strongly suggest R6.
