I am looking for recommendations for a supported sound card, here are my requirements:
digital out
6.1, I will settle for 5.1 or 7.1
I am going to add this sound card and connect throgh my receiver for sourround audio and use the MOBO on-board sound for audio capture of my Winfast2000.

Is Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 supported?
I checked the alsa website and it wasn't clear it was supported.

I bought a Chaintech av-710 (Supported by ALSA)
I will post when I have the sound card successfully installed.

Will knoppMyth detect the new sound card when I install the HW into my box?
Will I need to recompile ALSA to enable SPDIF?
