Just got another STB (MOTO 6200) and it seems that a few have had good results getting the firewire to work. Was going to try, but wasn't seeing the firewire_tester script. Saw a couple tickets open, so maybe this is still in the works? Anyone have firewire working? Any help appreciated.

Here is my plugreport

Code:
plugreport
Host Adapter 0
==============

Node 0 GUID 0x0011d800012bebeb
------------------------------
libiec61883 error: error reading oMPR
libiec61883 error: error reading iMPR

Node 1 GUID 0x0014e8fffecafa23
------------------------------
oMPR n_plugs=1, data_rate=2, bcast_channel=63
oPCR[0] online=1, bcast_connection=0, n_p2p_connections=1
        channel=0, data_rate=2, overhead_id=0, payload=376
iMPR n_plugs=0, data_rate=2

I'm using Firewire to change channels just fine--haven't tried recording over it though.

I was able to get recording and channel change. Not too hard, but had to use the priming script. Problems came with box needing a reboot every time it encountered an 'encrypted' channel, for me 90% of the channels. I get cspan great! I was really wanting to see what HD stations I could get, which ended up being 0 iirc. I actually polled all the channels, plugged them into Schedules Direct and tested it for a couple days. LiveTV was OK, but it was unreliable to record due to the priming that was needed. I figured the gain was so minimal that it wasn't worth the potential WAF drop-off.

(I'm holding out for a HD-PVR and .22 to be in the stable R6.)
