Hello All,

Am trying our R6 on a spare machine as an extra frontend to a R5.5 FE/BE.
On the R5.5 FE/BE, i successfully added the twinhan remote that comes with twinhan VP-3020C and VP-3021 cards using the guides here:

http://www.doctort.org/adam/?p=281
&
http://www.doctort.org/adam/?p=181

However, as R6 is Archlinux based, i cannot seem to configure LIRC the same as in debian based R5.5.
Also, the twinhan remote "default" in R6 mythvantage setup program is not correct for my remote.

Any advice on how to configure the /etc/conf.d/lircd and other files(?) to use devinput and the "by-id" devices?

Thanks,

Simon

The command for lircd would be of the form:

lircd --driver=dev/input --device=/dev/input/event<xx> ....

To see more about configuring lirc, check out the website:

Hello,

Thanks for the reply.
After reading up on "runsv", which R6 uses (as far as i can see) to supervise the services, i edited the /etc/sv/lircd/run file to use a custom command for running lirc using "devinput" driver and device "/dev/input/by-id/usb-Twinhan......-kbd".

I then changed the default lircrc file provided by R6 to my more preferred settings and now everything works.

How can i submit my experience so it can be included in next release?

Simon
