Be aware that this is a new mother board which may have new issues...


Sweet upgrade, I didn't put a burner in the box because I already had one on the workstation I'd built the month before. However it would certainly make writing an archive to DVD script easier... and dual layer too... color me jealous!


You can save some $ here. I'm using PC-2700 since it's all the CPU can use anyway, and the performance is just fine. The chipset MAY be able to use the extra bandwidth for the video, I seem to remember seeing something about that in a review, but since it isn't a bottleneck you'd just be guilding the lily.


Not sure abot the mobile Athlon... Did you check the CPU compatability on Shuttles web site? A plain old XP Barton 2500+ will cost you $8 less and get you the 333Mhz FSB.

did your shuttle bare bone come with a power supply ... ive seen shuttle advertise em.. and other websites other than shuttle talking about including em with the system...

The whole idea of the "Barebones PC" is a box with everything but CPU, RAM, drives and any add on cards or peripherals you want. The big deal here is that the new SilentX powersupply that Shuttle uses is a very nice upgrade over the older one.

I just got a shuttle this weekend (61 model) and the only concern I have with it is heat. So far no heat related problems though, but the air blowing out the back is definately toasty.

What kind of processor did you put in it? I've also got a very similar Biostar IDEQ 200T for my workstation machine with a 3.0Ghz Northwood core chip, and while the air coming out of it is warm I don't think I'd call it toasty...
