Can you put a PVR250 in a front end and record back to the back end server? I did check the regular sites but didn't see a Yes or No and any other info on it. When I was searching I read the forum post http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1241 and I really liked the Sony Terrabyte 7 stream box. Seems like Myth could do that pretty inexpensively using off the shelf parts. But I agree with Xsecrets that I don't think any night will have 7 shows I want to watch. But for video production it could be very useful. What MB has 7 PCI slots and onboard video and sound with ethernet? Thanks again for this forum and all the help. |

No, you cannot put a tuner in a frontend and have it record to the master backend. By definition, this would be a slave backend. Read the mythtv docs for more. If I were attempting to do this, I would not put 7 PCI cards in one boxen(if there was a MB with 7 PCI slots), I'd use 2 systems if not 3. Yes, Sony can... They can make thier own hardware. |
