I need a remote control for my second box. I didn't need one until I started using the one that came with the PVR250.

Before I get slammed, read the forum and wiki, I have. But Remote Control is in a ton of posts and none that I read discuss just the remote.

I want to buy a USB or Serial device to use a remote I already have or that comes with one. A URL to one that is inexpensive would be helpful. I do not want to build one even though that is the lowest cost solution.

Thanks in advance.

it maybe just me, but i dont even understand the question??? the 250's come with a remote, whats wrong with that one?? Also if you think the remote sucks (like i do) and want a better remote, buy a learning remote and program it off the cheap pvr250 remote.

btw if your looking to use the remote with the 250, but need a receiver that you dont want to build, people talk alot about this serial receiver...

http://www.squirrel-net.co.uk/software/irman/

I have never tried it, but i believe LIRC supports it. TO get this to work you have ALOT of reading ahead of you...

I have a PVR250 with remote and I love it.
I am setting up MiniMyth with my system. Still having problems with TFTP on Debian on the KnoppMyth Back End but that is a different thread.

So I need a remote for the MiniMyth box now that I am hooked on remotes.

Thanks for the help so far.

Does Pinnacle sell just the remote with the serial cable?
I would like to buy a cable and remote that will work with the MiniMyth box I am setting up.

Thanks for the help.
Sorry for the confusion.

Does MiniMyth fully support LIRC? Perhaps this question is better asked on the MiniMyth forum.

Good Point
I will ask over there.

Sorry for asking this here. I am flipping around alot these days.
4 or 5 forums and about 20 different web pages.

Some of the pages are Myth related some are PVR some are just server related.

I will post my findings once I have some more success here and there.

Thanks for the help so far.

You're welcome... No problem. That is simply the best place to find the information you require.
