I just ordered a PVR-250 to serve as my video capture board. Now all I need to do is select a videoboard w/ S-Video out that will do so with a high picture quality. My limited experience with this was on my old Voodoo3 board. The quality was very poor.

Can someone suggest an APG video board that has S-Video out and that produces a high quality desktop image on the TV?

Thanks all!

Does your Myth box auto detect that you have your TV out hooked up and at boot up? My goal is not to have a monitor for this at all - 100% on the PC or if I need to, I'll ssh in...

graysky - you do NOT have to have a monitor installed. You can simply have your TV out on your video card hooked to your TV. The MythTV guides describe this and the KnoppMyth guide describes this as well. If you have problems feel free to post your questions. As cesman stated the Geforce 4 MX440 is a popular card with MythTV users. I have it onboard my motherboard and it works flawlessly.

Quigs, please read my question here. Do you see any unusual visual artifacts such as that moving line of brightness I describe? Does your black look black? I noticed when viewing a letterbox formatted DVD on the PC to the TVOUT, that the black areas above and below look too bright; that moving vertical bar is very noticeable there, but as well in the picture.

Thanks again for your info!
