Post subject: | ATI Remote Question |
Ok, I'm having a slight lapse here. I've read over and over the post: http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1599 which is great for getting the ati remote to work, unfortunately I cannot remember where to put the d@mn files! I know that the remote is installed by default in R4V5 so where would I put the ati_remote.c and header.c from the previous instructions? And since the remote is installed by default would I need to run rmmod to remove the remote before I run the make, install routine? |

well from the looks of that post you just download the gatos drivers to somewhere and put the .c file that you download from that site mentioned over the one from the gatos drivers then compile from whatever location you have downloaded to, at least that's the way I read it. As for removing the module you shouldn't have to remove it first, but it will not take effect till you rmmod then modprobe. |

Thanks, guess trying to think this morning is not working for me. For some reason I was thinking it was a lot more involved than that. Time to have more coffee. |

Ok, I got the mods to gatos and did the rmmod ati_remote, make, make test, make install, modprobe ati_remote and went into the database to assign the correct keys to the appropriate actions. Now when I press the left or right mouse button on the remote I am getting the following entries in /var/log/syslog ******************** Nov 10 07:39:03 mythbox kernel: ** unknown key=3e79 Nov 10 07:39:05 mythbox last message repeated 9 times Nov 10 07:39:23 mythbox kernel: ** unknown key=427d Nov 10 07:39:24 mythbox last message repeated 2 times ******************** This looks like the remote is sending different codes than what the ati_remote.c has set up in it. How would I go about correcting this? I looked in the ati_remote.c but it doesn't list those hex codes for the keys, it has 0x?? and I'm not sure of how to change them to these codes. |
