i bought a PVR350 recently, but i cant quite get it to work properly :(

the best i got was a screen with "static" and a very faint image of a channel scrolling by :/ i know on which channel it is, but not what i should enter in mythtv on my normal tv its channel 12.
i have PAL in Holland so i tried S12, E12, and N12, all gave me the same crappy reception :(

I have a type 991 PVR-350 (pretty new one as it turns out :/)

# modprobe tveeprom returned the following info when i first ran it :P (after some messing around it now returns nothing anymore :()

Nov 16 00:09:47 mythtv kernel: tvee: Hauppauge: model=48139, rev=K157, serial#=7521378
Nov 16 00:09:47 mythtv kernel: tvee: tuner=<unknown> (idx=57, type=-1)
Nov 16 00:09:47 mythtv kernel: tvee: tuner fmt=PAL(D/K) (eeprom=0x74, v4l2=0x00400e17)
Nov 16 00:09:47 mythtv kernel: tvee: audio_processor=CS5331 (type=9)

i found this "post" on a mailing list about a patch for ivtv, but i dont know how to use it :P could someone help me?

http://www.poptix.net/ivtv/Nov-2004/msg00239.html

also how can i get my /etc/mythtv/modules/ivtv file reset to autodetected settings? i think i may have fubar'd it ;)

Thanks in advance,

Whacko

(The Netherlands)

EDIT:

i tried dmesg, and this is what it gives me about my card now:

tveeprom: Hauppauge: model = 48139, rev = K157, serial# = 7521378
tveeprom: tuner = Philips FM1216 ME MK3 (idx = 57, type = 38)
tveeprom: tuner fmt = PAL(D/K) (eeprom = 0x74, v4l2 = 0x00400e17)
tveeprom: audio_processor = CS5331 (type = 9)

still gives me static when i enter 38 as type in my /etc/mythtv/modules/ivtv :(

i think it might be because the PVR-350 i have, has a saa7129 chip instead of the regular saa7127 chip. The patch for ivtv is on that mailinglist in my previous post, but it seems to be "corrupt" since it was pasted and may not have the proper allignment of the lines etc. so i cant patch it :( anyone who knows where i might find the .diff file for it? i cant find anything on the ivtv pages :/

Ok, just thought id post as much info about my system as i can.

MSI KT4AV Motherboard (via KT4 chipset)
AMD Athlon XP1800+
256 MB PC2100 DDR RAM
MSI nVidia GeForce MX4000-T64 64MB DDR 32Bit (TV-OUT)
Hauppauge WinTV PVR-350 Model 991

i modified my ivtv driver using the diff-file in my first post as a reference.
Doesnt seem to have any effect, other than it detecting the card properly.
you can see the detection in the systlog, its the line i singled out by placing empty lines around it.

http://whacko.nl/tmp/syslog.txt contains the ivtv init section of my syslog
http://whacko.nl/tmp/ivtv.txt from /etc/mythtv/modules/ivtv
http://whacko.nl/tmp/cfg-0.txt from /etc/sysconfig/ivtv/cfg-0
http://whacko.nl/tmp/set_ivtv_params.txt from /etc/init.d/set_ivtv_params
Image
a screenshot of my PVR-350 "tuned-in" to a channel: The lighter part of the image is the actual channel scrolling by, sometimes flashing the colors it has. I tried adjusting the channel by finetuning it, but doesnt seem to work.

http://whacko.nl/tmp/ivtv-0.1.10-pre2-c ... aa7129.tar custom driver with saa7129 patch.

Hopefully this is useful to anyone. If you need more info just ask. Im becoming rather desperate, and i believe i tried everything i could find.

Thanks in advance,

Whacko

You might want to check
http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=30989
It worked for me on the model=48139, idx=57 and type=38 card. You might need to add
Code:
options ivtv tda9887=0

to the ivtv file.
Regards,
Lars
