Post subject:  adding wintv go to system

hi, here's my system stats the problem is the wintv go model 190 is no longer working.

msi k7n2 delta mobo
512 megs ddr ram
dvd-rom
120 gig hd
pvr250
wintv go model 190

Previously, I had both cards working, I don't remember doing anythign special to get the wintv go workign either. note the CARDS were working, the system was having alot of errors so i've reinstalled. The errors are gone and everything is working good, well almost.

The second tuner wintv go model 190 doesn't work. Tuner 1 works fine no problem, but when i have it recording something then i go to watch tv, which would use the wintv go, i get a black screen.

Now here's the interesting part. Before, when both were working under mythtv-setup i would choose tuner-0 for the prv250 and television for the wintv go. But i only see two tuner-0's. I'm thinking it's something with the bttv drivers, not sure. I recompiled my ivtv drivers to ivtv-0.2.0-rc2w.tgz (required because of my model of 250).
Also other than this, the only other slight problem is that on channel 2 only, there are horizontal lines showing up that do not show up when the coax is plugged directly into the tv (it's still watchable, but kind of annoying). I'm on charter and have had to change the setting to us-cable-hrc to get the signal working.

If i can fix these two problems (but the wintv go one is much more important to me)this would be awesome.

Thanks,

Jon

Perhaps a search of the forum. Perhaps you need to specify tuner type?

well i've treid searching and haven't found anything. Now about specifying the tuner type... would i need to do this with bttv? or ivtv?

any help would be much appredicated.

P.S. I'm LOVING mythtv now that it's all working (except for the second tuner of course) it is extremely awesome. I can schedule recordings wiout getting out of my char hard to beat that. Good job :)

Try searching again with "wintv" and "190". Be sure to specify that ALL search terms are required. I got about four hits with lots of very good advice. Highly recommended.

okay i searched... found this post
http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... =wintv+190

I read it and tried it but now it has made my original tuner card not work. I just get black screen.

Here's what's different for me. On a previous install I just stuck the card in, used the audio patch cable and everything worked fine no settings needed.

Also under mythtv-setup it had one tuner-0 (for the 250) and one television (for the wintv-go). After doing this fix i get two television. Before the fix i got two tuner-0's.

Also, now (after trying this fix) the remote doesn't work.

I'm going to try undoing what I did and hope it goes back to at least one tuner working.

okay... I undid the settings and was able to get the one tuner working again and the remot workign again (since it is conected to that tuner).

However now i can no longer ssh into hostname mythtv. I changed nothing on my network so it must have been something that i just did in fixing that. However the weather module still works so the internet is working for it.... just the hostname is no longer mythtv.

edit... fixed realized i had to start samba for this to work. So i'm back to where i started now. the wintv-go tuner isn't working.
