Well, I just got two bttv tuners and two sound cards to work in my master backend. I also have a frontend upstairs over a wirless conection which works great. I ALSO have digital cable, but only upstairs on the frontend, it's not connected to the frontend it's just connected to the tv... so no connection between myth and the digital cable box, yet (I didn't know there was a way to get mythtv to talk to a cable box until a few days ago). So anyway, I'm thinkin' about moving the digital cable box downstairs and hooking it into an input on the master backend which means that I would have one coming from the digital cable box (controled with a serial connection) and one coming from the analog cable. What exaclty would that do?? would that mean that you could only access the digital cable while no one else was and would it keep two sets of listings and I know I can set a priority for a certain tuner, so I'd need to do that too... but will it work to use two different cable services? |
