Most people want 'tivo' like abilities, and all I want is a simple box to record shows in a clean digital NTSC format (non-HD) of 640(or 720)x480.
I want to convert my current system for the job using the following:
AthlonXP1700+
768MB PC2100 DDR
GF3 Ti200 w/ TV out

Everyone says the easiest setup is the WinTV-PVR-250, so I assume that's the card I'll use for processing.
I just want to capture footage that I can playback later, so it will be supplemented by a 40GB HDD or 2 (will MythTV use multiple drives for storage?)

Anything I'm missing out on or can tune down (in the way of capture card) cost wise?
