Hi,

I've got a PVR-350. If I use it's on-board TV-out, my understanding is that CPU load for encoding and decoding/displaying will be minimal. What's the lowest-end system I could get away with? Would something like a P2-300 pull it off?

Dave

I would imagine that would work, the biggest problem when using hardware encode and decode will be disk I/O it will need to be able to handle about 2.5Mbits/sec in each direction which really shouldn't be a problem. If you have the system lying around it wouldn't hurt to try it.
Just don't try to do any transcoding, so that everything stays mpeg2 and is accelerated. So you should be looking for at least 1.5Gb/hour.
