I have been trying to get my mythtv project completed since september....playing dvd's, listening to music, viewing weather, etc all works perfectly....But the only thing is that I have to use the keyboard to control mythtv. My remote (or lirc, I'm not sure) will not work at all. I have checked several threads on this board and on gossamer-threads, but no matter how many times I try to recompile lirc, my remote will not work ...I am sooo close to finishing my project, but I can't get over this last problem... I purchased an IR blaster from irblaster.info....And I tried to this howto: http://knoppmythwiki.homelinux.org/inde ... asterHowTo I am using the lircd.conf for the A415-HPG remote. I am at my wits end any help would be appreciated.. I know I it is a problem with lirc, here is my output from dmesg | grep lirc Code: mythtv@tivo:~ $ dmesg | grep lirc
lirc_dev: IR Remote Control driver registered, at major 61 lirc_i2c: chip found @ 0x18 (Hauppauge IR) lirc_dev: lirc_register_plugin:sample_rate: 10 Any help is appreciated....I am so close to finishing, and I know I can get it working. I just want to use the remote to control mythtv, and for mythtv to control my cable box. p.s. I am running knoppmyth r4v5, with a Motorola DCT2000 cable box, and Comcast Digital Cable |

well I have been working on my remote issue over the weekend and no success. I did a complete re-install and got stuck at the same place...At this point I am using a wireless keyboard to control everything 
Any help would be greatly appreciated |

i got mine working last night. i used a modified version of the instructions here. http://www.mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1558 I used the "dct-channel" directory found in the /usr/src/mythtv-0.17/contrib/(<-to be edited later????) file ran the code like they said and walla. it wasn’t working till I included the -v at the end. Code: /usr/local/bin/channel -v
(I didn’t need the -v for R4V5.) I also changed the permissions. don’t know which one or both, but it worked. Another place to check is here (at the bottom): http://knoppmythwiki.homelinux.org/inde ... olaDct2000 |
