i have been searching the forum. but cannot find a list of compatible hardware... im not new to linux.. but i am new to the tv and recording scene in linux.. i was about to buy the wintv 401 w/dbx.. its cheap.. and the article i was reading suggested it because it works right out of the box.. i was looking thru the hauppauge site and saw a the wintv theater which is model 495... just wondering if anyone know if the model 495 will work.. im just looking to get into this and play around... is there a well linux supported HDTV card..? i do not have a HDTV at the moment.. buti would be willing to buy a hdtv capable card if it would allow me to do reg TV and move up to HDTV later.. any help would be appreciated |

there are two supported hdtv cards for linux. The pchdtv3000, and the air2pc. not sure if you would have much luck with either picking up regular tv. I have the pchdtv, and I haven't had any luck getting standard signals that look good. not sure if the air2pc even does standard ntsc, as it is a dtv card. |

thanks Xsecret... i guess ill stick with the reg tv for now.. just to start.. then when i m ready ill move to an HDTV card..... |
