I've searched all the message boards an cannot find someone with a similar issue. It appears that everything installed fine wit RA12. My PVR250 was found and loaded as video0. When I try to watch live tv, the screen is black and then goes back to the menu. I exited myth and logged in as root to run a couple test mentioned in several boars

cat /dev/video0 > /tmp/foo.mpg

the video is dark for a few seconds then runs fine so I am getting a feed.

i've tried changing the tuner card to tuner0, composite0, and everything else.

Not sure where to go from here. This is my dmesg

I'd hardly consider the PVR-250 Tier 3 hardware. Edit /etc/mythtv/moudles/ivtv. Comment or remove
Quote:
option tuner=2
then reboot.

Thank you! That did the trick. I was adding this line to modules.conf, based on recommendations from the mythtv forum. I guess mythmodules loads first in knopp.

As for posting to the correct topic, the heading reads "Hardware to avoid, couldn't get it working no matter what you did. Please provide steps taken(someone may have the same problem and got it to work)."

In my case "couldn't get it working no matter what you did" was my situation. I've seen a couple people blasted for using this Tier 3 for the same type of post.....please have the heading changed and newbies like myself will stop posting these here.
