I'd like to have HDTV PVR using the HDTV-3000 card (due to broadcast bit). Since my AV receiver is 7 years old, i've conviced the wife to let me replace that as well.

Are there any AV receivers out there that can be integrated into a myth environment tightly, or at least have potential beyond just using a universal remote (I.e., let me configure myth to configure the A/V receiver, tuner, speaker control, etc...)? I'd like to keep price under $600.

Lots of choices out there, some with RS232 ports, which might be way to go, but I'd like to know if anybody has had some success in this area.

As long as I am essentially starting from scratch, I want to do it right
