Ok, I'm giving up my bloody USB2 device and will buy some internals instead.

What do you recommend? Which will be least likely to cause problems:

PVR-150, PVR-20 or PVR-350 or perhaps a combination? What setup are you guys running?

PVR-150 is very bleeding edge right now, so it's "likely to cause problems."

PVR-250 is well supported although you may need to fiddle with the newer ones a bit to get them working.

PVR-350 is just as well supported as 250 for recording. The main reason to get a 350, though, is its TV-out capability, and if you want to try to get that working with the R5 alpha release of Knoppmyth, it's "likely to cause problems."

So if you want fewer headaches, go with a 250 and a Nvidia graphics card with TV-out.

The funny thing is all the new 250 and 350 most likely have new tuners anyway so either way you'll run into problems. I have a 150MCE and it's working fine but I did have to d/l and recompile the newest IVTV driver.

What about the PVR-250 Model 980? It seems like I've seen several posts that this is the "one" that works great. No extra configurations needed, etc, etc. Thoughts?

The problem is that Hauppauge has been changing tuner chips at a dizzying rate within the "model 980" umbrella.

Ah. Well, that's a royal pain. I guess I'm just going to have to take my chances then. Thanks for the info (and your HW pricing post).
