I wish it was that simple but there is no jumper on them slim drives. If you where making a drive with no jumper would you set it to CS or DS (Master) hmm let me think. How stupid is that. Well any way, in the next alpha or beta if it maybe? Will it support Slave HDD and Master CD drive? ![]() Thanks for your time and input, Edward. |

I am assuming there's an adaptor that hook this up to the IDE cable? or no? if so, can you find one that might be able to toggle between master/slave? |

Victor - relax. breath, ... Do you have two separate IDE channels on you motherboard? (i.e. 2 IDE connectors) If so, can you put the optical drive on the secondary channel and a hard drive or drives on the primary. Historically this was the prefered configuration since the slowest device on a channel (usually an optical drive) would limit the speed of the IDE channel. |

You probably need to use "cable select". You must enable cable select on BOTH drives -- it does not work if you set one as "master" and the other as cable select. You must also have a SPECIAL cable -- it has a blue connector on the motherboard end and grey and black connectors on the drive end. The last connector on the cable is the master, the one in the middle is the slave. |
