I have found if i type the following AND stop the backend mythtv-setup sees the card as a dvb-t. I am getting a little warmer i hope

modprobe bttv i2c_hw=1 card=0x71
modprobe dvb-bt8xx
modprobe dst

Forget about the modprobe bttv, the dst or dvb-bt8xx should load it automatically (I can't remember which one does it).
