Post subject:  Capture card quality
I'm interested in getting a decent TV capture card. All the ones I've tried in the past have been very bad, with audio sync, dropped frame problems and were generally low res (352 by something) and blurry.

I hear people talking about the PVR 250 and 350 as good cards... what is the quality like on these?

Could anyone be really helpful and record a few seconds of footage with their card so I can see? I really like the sound of MythTv, but before ditching Tivo, I want to make sure the quality of my viewing isn't going to go down. :)

Most of the DVDs I've burned from PVR-250 recordings look as good as the original broadcast.

This has been asked and discussed many times before so a search of the forum is highly recommended.

Okay tjc, thanks for the reply! :)

I'll do some hunting through the archives. I did do a search on the Wiki beforehand but didn't find much specifics about the quality of various cards.

It'd be great to have somewhere where we could compare card qualities. Even if it was just a screencap from the various cards, this'd be great for new users wanting to break into MythTV.
