I'm having a wierd problem - and I'm guessing it's a mobo problem, but I would like other people's opinion.

I got my hands on a free Celeron400 with a M748LMRT mobo. The mobo has integrated everything, but only one PCI slot. I thought COOL, I'll buy one of those cheap tuners that do MPEG2 compression, and I'll have a sub 100$ PVR.

Unfortunatly, when connect the Hauppauge PVR150 card, the board refuses to detect it (does not show up on boot pane) and there is no mention of it when I lspci (even with any combination of -H1 -H2 -G -vv).

Is there a way to force detect the card? If I replace the card with a graphics card, the mobo detects it fine... Other things I have tried include turning off as many integrated devices on the mobo (in case it's a shared IRQ or something).

I guess it could be the PVR card, but I want to try to deal with all the posiblilities before I go out and whine at the store.

You could try and update the BIOS if the BIOS is not detecting the card when it boots. Possible BIOS Update links:
