I was wondering if anyone has used one of these excellent bargain systems as a base for KnoppMyth.

I'm thinking if I add in an Nvidia TV-out and a PVR-x50 I'd be all set for most needs, and not have to worry about assembling all the other components.

Does anyone know if there is linux support for those 7-in-1 media readers yet?

It does seem to indicate PCI and not PCI-express slots, which is always a good thing to check these days.

Just remember that a "3100+" may not be enough horsepower to playback HDTV properly.

A bit of futher detail. Only analog cable in this neck of the woods and I was thinking of 2 x x50 tuners. Is it enough HP for that?

Yeah, that sounds good. Just remember that the box indicates the AGP and two PCI slots free. Might be best to go the PVR-500 route, just in case you need that 2nd slot for something else.

[there's ralph's writeup on getting the PVR-500 to work posted here somewhere...]
