Hey everyone, time to ask this question once again.

I know some people have managed to get the A415-HPG remote working with Knoppmyth, but I have had no luck. I've been trying the ideas found by searching the forum for 3 days now and still no luck.

Here are some of the things I have tried:

1. Added everything found in the R5A12 announcement post.

2. I have tried several different combinations of the lircrc and lirc.conf files, including the ones people said work. irw never shows anything (I had the irw error, but I corrected that through steps I found in a post here), but I know the remote is working as irrecord captures the button presses.

3. I have the lines in bootmisc.sh to start lirc on boot.

I know some of you got this to work... in fact there is a thread almost exactly like this where the guy figures it out. But I have tried everything in that thread with no luck, so I ask you all to spell it out one more time for slow people like me.

Other than this problem with the remote, Knoppmyth has been fantastic! Thanks to those who made it.

I have the same problem. I use a PVR-350 with R5A15.1
Please, tell me if you find a solution

first off take the lines out of bootmisc as that is no longer neccesary in any version newer than A12 the new versions you just run update-rc.d lirc defaults and lircd will load on boot. if you want to load it before you boot use /etc/init.d/lirc start

My guess would be that lircd is not loading or not loading properly for you, because irrecord does not use lircd, while irw does.

aspain did you ever get your prob resolved?? I have a PVR-250 and can't seem to get my ir remote to work. Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

The lircd.conf was not for my remote control. I found a version for my PVR-350 and the problem is resolved
