Just installed R5A15.1 on my new A7S8X & seem to have a problem with audio capture - the rest of the alsa stuff seems OK (SIS7012 + AD1888)
I've got an Asus TV card with the audio out wired through to the CD input on the motherboard. If I fire up XAWTV, I get live audio when I un-mute the CD input. - So the output from the card is getting into the mixer.
I can play a .wav file with aplay - So the PCM output is working OK.
So I figure it's something just with the capture. Using alsamixer I've got "captur" enabled on my CD input. The capture input mixer level is at 88% & "capture" is shown below this mixer slider as well. As suggested in various posts I've got the IEC958 muted. But I still hear nothing. It's almost as though the capture channel is muted - but it doesn't have a mute option.

I've been playing with FC2 / FC3 / MythTV & now Knoppmyth for about 6 months - but I still class myself as a newbie so if you have a suggestion please bear that in mind !
Any suggestions....?
