Post subject: | Att'n: Wrooster- lirc PVR-150 "connect: Connection Ref |
Hi: I've got R5A12 running fairly well with my PVR-150 tuner, So I decided to try to get lirc working with my PVR-150 silver remote. BTW, I only have about 2 months experience with Linux, but I'm a Windows technician during the day. I eventually managed to setup and compile the lirc 0.7.0 source that came with R5A12 without any errors (at least that I could see). I configured and installed lirc precisely according to Robert.pdx's LIRC HOWTO: exactly:http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4609 However, when I run irw the first time, it just takes me back to the shell prompt. If I type irw again, it gives me: Code: connect: Connection refused dmesg | grep lirc yields: Code: lirc_dev: IR Remote Control driver registered, at major 61
I did a lot of Googling for info, and found almost nothing. The only real suggestion I found was Wrooster's: http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1368&highlight=connection+refused but I don't know if it applies in my situation or not. So Wrooster, or anyone else: Have any ideas? This is way above my level. Thanks in advance. Shplad |

irw is supposed to just take you back to the command line and then listen for key presses on the remote. when you press a key on the remote it spits out info on that key. |

Thanks, I know. But when I press the remote keys, lirc doesn't do anything. I made sure to aim the remote directly at the receiver too. shplad Xsecrets wrote: irw is supposed to just take you back to the command line and then listen for key presses on the remote. when you press a key on the remote it spits out info on that key.

Hi! I have the same problem with my PVR150 and its remote with kernel 2.4.27-ctvdr-1. May 14 17:20:26 koehnen-vdr kernel: tveeprom: Hauppauge: model = 26034, rev = C197, serial# = 7703309 May 14 17:20:26 koehnen-vdr kernel: tveeprom: tuner = LG PAL (TAPE Series) (idx = 97, type = 55) May 14 17:20:26 koehnen-vdr kernel: tveeprom: tuner fmt = PAL(B/G) PAL(D/K) (eeprom = 0x44, v4l2 = 0x00000e07) May 14 17:20:26 koehnen-vdr kernel: tveeprom: audio_processor = MSP3400C (type = 4) May 14 17:20:26 koehnen-vdr kernel: ivtv: i2c attach [client=tveeprom[32],ok] May 14 17:20:26 koehnen-vdr kernel: ivtv: Tuner Type 55, Tuner formats 0x00000e07, Radio: yes, Model 0x008d1657, Revision 0x00000000 May 14 17:20:26 koehnen-vdr kernel: ivtv: PAL tuner detected May 14 17:20:26 koehnen-vdr kernel: ivtv: Radio detected May 14 17:20:26 koehnen-vdr kernel: tuner: chip found at addr 0xc2 i2c-bus ivtv i2c driver #0 May 14 17:20:26 koehnen-vdr kernel: ivtv: i2c attach [client=(tuner unset),ok] May 14 17:20:26 koehnen-vdr kernel: lirc_dev: IR Remote Control driver registered, at major 61 I'm using lirc-0.7.1pre4, starting lircd with --device=/dev/lircd, but irw and irrecord also don't show any respond. Do you have a solution jet? My /var/log/lircd doesn't report errors. So I don't know what I can do now. With WindowsXP the remote works fine. So an hardware issue is excluded. |

Dunno about 150, but on my 250, I followed the docs on mythtv.org about LIRC and Hauppauge remote secion. I manually removed all of the traces of lirc, then manually reinstalled it, rebooted and it works great. |
