Hi, I finally got my 350 card and have been fairly successfull doing captures with RedHat 9. I haven't had a chance to setup the tv out on it yet but I read someplace that the ivtvfb driver can be used to run X. Has anyone tried completely removing their graphics card and just gone with the display on the 350's outputs? I'm not sure if it will work but I think it can be done. |

well couple of problems with that. 1st alot of motherboards won't let you boot without a video card. Second You won't be able to see anything untill X loads up. you don't see the console. This would not be a problem with a full functional install, but could make setup a bear. |

I agree as far as setup goes. I never did think of the problem with the board not letting a bootup without a video adapter though. I remember running into that way back when trying to get linux to put the console on a serial port. |

I'd just get a soooooper cheap VGA card. It'll make setup a lot easier. Later, if it turns out the machine will boot w/o one you can remove it. |
