After several attempts, I finally got live tv working. I can view, record, pause, hear sound..everything just fine. HOWEVER..I have no TV output. Everything I can see is on my monitor and not the TV. When I fire up the machine, both the TV and monitor are initalized and I can see it post. Right after loading lilo.conf the TV goes blank and only the monitor works. I've searched the forums and only found posts regarding nvidia cards, but I still tried editing the XF86Config-4 file by adding: Code: Section "Device"
### Available Driver options are:- # sw_cursor is needed for some ati and radeon cards Option "sw_cursor" #Option "hw_cursor" #Option "NoAccel" #Option "ShowCache" #Option "ShadowFB" #Option "UseFBDev" #Option "Rotate" Identifier "Card0" Option "DPMS" Option "TVType" "NTSC-M" Option "TVVScan" "over" Option "TVOutput" "composite" Option "ActiveDevice" "CRT,TV" # The following line is auto-generated by KNOPPIX mkxf86config Driver "ati" VendorName "All" BoardName "All" # BusID "PCI:1:0:0" EndSection I've even tried commenting out DPMS as it was suggested. my specs are: AMD Athlon 800 60GB HDD PVR-150 retail (non mce) ATI Rage 128 Pro ViVo AGP 512MB RAM Knoppmyth R5A12 Thanks in advance! |

I was afraid someone was going to say that. I've been pricing 'em on ebay. Would a 64MB card take care of it, or should I go with a 128? |

a 64 should be fine as video really doesn't take that much video memory. You probably want something that is a gforce4 or newer, as they changed some of the tvout stuff, to allow adjustments, and additional configuration via the XF86Config file. on the older ones you have to use nvtv and some say the quality is not so good. |

At this point the 128's are almost as cheap... This is what I grabbed http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814164046 As far as I can tell it's identical (down to the stickers) to this popular model: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814140017 |
