I've got a brand new 300GB hard drive that I want to install KnoppMyth on, but every time I attempt to run auto install, it fails to partition the drive. When I try on manual, it says it is reading the drive as read only. The hard drive has no partition on it. Am I supposed to do something to the hard drive in order to prepare it for the KnoppMyth install?

Let me guess, you got a SATA drive right? Search the forum and/or the wiki for "SATA".

OBTW - When you ask a question like this please provide detailed hardware info, then we don't have to do our imitations of the Carnac The Magnificent. I for one hate wearing Johnny's old turban and am heartily sick of the schtick about the questions being hermetically sealed in a mayonasie jar on Funk & Wagnall's porch...
