anyone ever done a software raid with knoppmyth? i got a 40gb hard drive for my system files and then two 250gb's for storage. I want to set them up as a software raid so I got one huge 500gb for my storage. I should be able to do this with cfdisk no problem, but then how do i move the knoppmyth storage location/database over to my new drives? thanks, tim |

You may consider using LVM to join your drives instead of software raid. There's some information on how to set it up on the KnoppMyth wiki. See http://knoppmythwiki.org. |

Yeah, you're not really asking for any real RAID level, you're asking for JBOD (just a bunch of disks) which more or less equivalent to what LVM gets you. |

look into md and the "linear" mode. this allows data to spill on to each one sequentially. |
