Post subject:  IR Blaster
I haven't set up MythTV on a machine before, but I am planning on installing R4 as soon as it comes out. ( speaking of which, is the release at midnight, because for me, that's only 15 minutes away...:)

I will have an IR Blaster within a few days, and was wondering what kind of support would be in R4. or what might be required on my behalf after install. If it is the case that I will have to handle it all after the install, I understand, but could you point me in the direction of a useful website? Thanks in advance.

Good morning bluchez.

Take a look at http://www.mythtv.org/docs/mythtv-HOWTO.pdf,
there's a complete documentation about installing MythTV as pdf. Chapter 8.7 will explain configuration for IRBlaster.

:D Finishing up the docs....Then I have to get it to the mirror and ensure the md5sum are correct..

LIRC is already installed, but you'll need to recompile for IR Blaster. Source is in /usr/src. Once you have IR Blaster working, a post:http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=3 would be great to let others know how to do it.

That's kinda what I thought, and I will make sure and post when I get it working.
