Post subject: | R5 PVR250 model 980 ivtv file? |
If anyone is using a model 980 PVR250 with an R5 alpha, could you please do me a favor and post your /etc/mythtv/modules/ivtv file? I've tried many configurations and versions of R5 and I've had no luck. I just spent $130 on this card and it's still not working, and I'm getting worried that I threw my money away. I'd be very thankful if you could post your configs and which alpha you're using. Thanks! EDIT: Also, my symptom is that I'm getting static. My card doesn't show a black screen, it doesn't hang, it doesn't freeze after a second. I was testing it with my Dish Network feed and also my DVD player hooked into it with a cable. |

I think you'll find it has nothing to do with the config, but with the version of ivtv. I believe the 980's require the development version of ivtv and knoppmyth has the stable version. at any rate it's been covered several times as everyone seems to have problems with the 980's. |

I've tried to upgrade to the latest beta/unstable ivtv and I find that I'm not really in any different of a situation. No config or version seems to do anything for me. Some people have reported getting the 980 working. Thanks again for your reply. |

May seem obvious but is your starting channel set to 3 for the dish network box |

I'm not exactly sure because I'm not positive I know which thing you're asking about. My Dish Network box requires the TV to be on channel 60 to work. There is no satellite channel 3, just a 2 and a 4. |

well I guess what he's saying is do you have the starting channel set to 60 in the setup since that's what your satelite box needs, though I've never heard of a box that requires anything other than 3 or 4 but hey I've never used sat either. and that is of course considering you are using a coax connection and not svid. |
