Post subject:  Only getting static when trying to watch TV
Ok, I've installed MythTV, setup everything, i can see the program guide. When i click WATCH TV i can se what channel i'm watching and what's on, but not see the actual channel.
When i chose the card in "Capture cards",
then i chose Tuner 0. That's right.. ?

AMD XP 1700+
512mb RAM
ATI Radeon 9200 128mb
PVR-350
Live in Sweden..


Ok, ive done some searching. Found out my card was typ 38.

Now I have to change it like this
"nano /etc/mythtv/modules/ivtv
-change the "options tuner type" line to read
options tuner type=39
-Reboot the computer
reboot "

How?
Which application should i use?

How to change to my tuner type.
Used Xterm and changed myself to superuser and then changed the values. Still getting static.

OK, not quite fair here, since your English is clearly miles ahead of my Swedish, but equally frustrating for us.

Have we got anyone who speaks Swedish (or somthing close enough to serve) and can either get our friend here sorted out or figure out what he's having problems with? Come on, one of you guys from the western Great Lake should have a grandmother or old uncle with enough Svensk or Norsk...

HAHAHAHA :D

I can try to explain it one more time ;)

My problem is that when i try to watch TV, I only get static.
I've tried changing my tuner-type to 38 (that's what I have, got it from 'grep tveeprom /var/log/messages'). But that didn't help me, I'm still getting static.

Got a HAUPPAUGE PVR-350

Understand now? ;)

is your problem, though I'm not sure what tuner you need to use and if your version of ivtv supports it. there is supposed to be a tveeprom line that tells you what tuner it found, but I don't see it. Though I've never really had to work through these problems.

maybe you could grep tveeprom out of the messages file and see if you can find anything about what tuner version to use.
