I was moving my mame roms over to my knoppmyth box today and halfway through it stopped.

I looked and looked but could not find the problem.

In a ssh console i tried to make a new directory, but it said no space left on device, which is why I coudlnt copy any more files.

But 'df -h' showed only 33% of the partittion was full.

Any ideas? Is there a disk quota module running?

Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/hda1 2.8G 1.3G 1.4G 48% /
/dev/root.old 2.2M 342K 1.8M 16% /initrd
/dev/hda3 7.1G 666M 6.4G 10% /cache
/dev/hda4 83G 27G 57G 33% /myth

probably need to reformat the drive. by default the myth drive gets formated with few inodes expecting not too may large files. if you fill it with lots of small files you run out of inodes even though you have space left. there is a thread about this.

Thanks for the pointer. This one bit me, too. sure enough, a "df -i" shows I'm outta inodes.
