i bought a VGA to s-video cable off ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 72929&rd=1 when i hooked it up to my tv i got a black scree with static does anyone know how i could get it to work i have a geforce 2 gts 32mb |

In the fine print the seller says his cable is "only for cards that support TV-out". This is some kind of cable that works only with a specific kind of VGA card. I have not heard of any standard way to connect S-Video through VGA, but there may be a defacto standard way most companies handle it. But this cable does not "convert" from VGA to S-video, it only works with certain cards that can generate the S-video signals directly, but just lack the special connector (like some laptops). I googled your card description, and I don't see any mention of TV-out capability. Of course, this feature could be present in some versions of the GeForce2 GTS and not in others. In my admittedly quick search, I did not find any which have TV-out, however. I'm afraid your cable probably will not work with your video card. |
