working on getting TV out (although, it isnt working to start with, probably an ominus warning to not bite off more then I can chew). I've followed the PVR-350 installation notes on the wiki, and have trouble getting X to start.

A little info about the system:
Duron 750, 600+mb ram, 120gb, sis790 mobo (I think, will check upon request), pvr350

which I have in as: BusID "PCI:00:09:0" in the XConfig

During boot:
Quote:
Jul 12 01:35:27 mythtv kernel: PCI: Found IRQ 11 for device 0000:00:09.0

I get the following right at the end of boot:

Note: I have not actually been able to display a captured image on the monitor either, so there may be another underlaying problem that exists. With that in mind, what did I miss when setting it up? Thank you for any pointers.

I had this error as well, I think its because the /dev/fb0 isnt correct. Try using /dev/fb1. You should be able to see in the message log which fb device the pvr350 is pointing at.

Hi,
The frame buffer could be an issue and that can be corrected by fixing the vga=normal in /etc/lilo.conf do lilo -v to apply (will also need to reboot) Then the fb0 should be free for x

Almost all the time I have seen the friendly myth interface appear. Can we assume that you can see tux enjoying his favorite show on your monitor? The install does rather well at sniffing the hardware and your /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 should be working.

If you can remotely ssh into your myth box, that is the easiest way to check things things related to x. I have mentioned some steps else where up in the general area of the forum that may be helpful. A little more information of what you see, version is always good, and a rough skill level, New, beginner, still learning. I am at the "still have a lot to learn" stage :)

I run the R5A16 on an e-machine, 1.3 ghtz for most of my testing of ideas. My "production" machine is an older Intel BX440 at ~700 mhz which just sits there and runs.

The sis series have worked for me, so start with the basics first.

try this for some earlier information
