When I attempt to view live TV I get nothing but a snowy picture. My specs are:

P4 2.4 Ghz
512MB RAM
160GB HD
GeForce 4 TI 4600 4x AGP card
Hauppauge PVR250
Lite-on CDROM

I'm not entirely sure of whether or not my cable service is us-cable, or us-cable HRC. I just have standard cable, no digital box or anything. I've tried both and in both cases nothing but snow. Is there a site where you can find out what other people in your area have? I have the input set to television0 I believe it is.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

one of those two will work if you are in the US. your problem is most likely a tuner setting problem with ivtv. Did you even bother to search. There are about 100 posts on only snow problems in the last couple of months since hauppage made their last round of chip changes.
