Please forgive if i dont give the exact file name needed I am not near my Mythbox. I have R5V16 and recompiled LIRC to use my irman reciever using the wiki. Whenever I start it up LIRC isnt running. I added it to bootmisc.sh like it says. but i still have to open terminal and start lircd manually and restart Myth. Any suggestions?

have you checked you logs (syslog, kern.log) following a boot to look for lircd stratup errors?

grep lirc /var/log/syslog

Ive checked logs and found no mention of lirc in them where else can i stick lircd so that it will run on startup?

my lirc startup is in /etc/init.d/bootmisc.sh

I use the lirc_serial module (and therefore need the setserial and modprobe), you may only need the last two lines
