getting a free trail of comcasts DVR box...the guy I talked to about a totally different issue struck up a 40 min conversation with me and I got talked into driving down to trade in for an hdtv dual tuner dvr box
...I don't have an HDtv but I do have a godbox pc with a 20" monitor.
My main question is what do I need to capture at least svideo or component video +digital coax or fiberop sound...although sounds not a huge issue since I just bought 20' rca cables to run to my comp for my old box...getting a hum from cable leakage he said.
I have a wintvGO hauppage card but theres no hardware encoding which sucks...and its composite in only...
My goal is to use the tuner box and fill it up to its 40-90 hours of storage and then dump that to my comp for storage or dvd.
The tuner is kick ass, I can record two different channels and watch something ive already recorded at the same time
