hey all, just got my new powerbook, and trying to get mythtv to work properly.

I have the frontend working fine, and everything over 10/100 can watch tv without a hitch. The powerbook can too, but get more than 20-30 feet away from the AP (WRT54G), and it starts skipping and stuttering, and I get:

constantly in the Console.

Now, for what its worth, according to the airport software on the powerbook, I get something like a 60-75% signal, yet it still is choppy.

Smooth playback on a hard wired unit uses anywhere betwee 800KB/s to 3MB/s, usually staying around 1.5MBs.

I'v tried putting on a hacked firmware to boost the signal, but it didnt work, I tried a parabolic reflector, but no go...diffrent channels make no difference. So what next?
