I have onboard sound nforce2 with the cmedia 1976 chip this is the one that does not allow volume control. I have come across a hercules gamesurround pci card with the crystal 4624 chip. I checked on the Alsa site and it appears to have a driver, I would like to put it in my myth box but of course messing with a working system is like playing with fire. Has anyone any experience with this chipset? Should it auto detect? Will Myth use it Automatically if I disable onboard sound in the bios. Sorry if I sound like an idiot but I am new to linux and having a lot of fun with my myth box R5a15. Just got Mythstream to work after having no luck with WinMyth. Thanks Craig |

Myth has nothing to do with detecting your sound card. Disable the card in the BIOS, install the one you want to try. When KnoppMyth finishes booting.... <CRTL><ALT><F1> Log in as root: Code: /etc/init.d/alsa-autoconfig Discussions about MythSteam and WinMyth have nothing to do with hardware. Discussion about WinMyth have nothing to do with KnoppMyth.
