{edit: I changed the title of the thread}
Hello all,

I am experiencing yet another Svideo issue. Before I begin, let me tell you what hardware I have.

Abit NF7S - Digital out to come
AMD Sempron 2200+
512megs corsair ddr
Chaintech FX5200 with vga and svideo out(Using Svideo not vga)
PVR250 Svideo in from Directv D100 and btaudio working

Using R5A16

I searched for this and found some things close to my isssue, but not exactly what I was experiencing. I am sure I will be flamed, but I am ok with that since I am pretty confident that I have exhausted my searchs here, google and on Gossamer threads.

Now to the problem :D

I have tv-out working from the FX5200 and all is well. Xserver and the Mythtv Gui work fabulously!!!(Color working) My overscan is correct and gui lined up properly.

Now, I can select input "4" from ivtvctl -p 4 and get composite to display, but am unhappy with its output. I can also get svideo to display with "0" on ivtvclt -p 0. I just cannot colorize the Black and White of that connection. I have checked the svideo cable for broken/bent pins, swapped cables, and still I get the same BW picture. I just cannot figure out what I am doing wrong.

Tuner says 26552 REV C268
Encoder chip says CX23416-12

/etc/mythtv/modules/ivtc output as follows:
Code:
alias char-major-81 videodev
alias char-major-61 lirc_i2c
#options ivtv debug=1
#options tuner type=2
options msp3400 once=1 simple=1
install ivtv /sbin/modprobe tuner; /sbin/modprobe msp3400; /sbin/modprobe saa7115;  /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install  ivtv
remove ivtv /sbin/modprobe -r --ignore-remove ivtv && /sbin/modprobe -r saa7115 && /sbin/modprobe -r msp3400 && /sbin/modprobe -r tuner

Maybe I am ignorant to the search parameters/syntax required to turn up my search????

Can someone help? cessman, Xsecrets?

Thanks :)

Why is it detected as a PVR150?

Would be when I posted I'd find a clue....

This should extract a more complete set of info. http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5691&start=7

The fact that the card is identified as a PVR-150 probably isn't good. What does
Code:
lspci -v
show

Well it sure doesn't seem to be recognizing your card... You may want to go over to the IVTV wiki and mailing list archives and search for that message "Unknown device 8801".

Ya know, I have been poking around Google, Gossamer, here and ivtv wiki etc and I think that I may have a PVR150MCE!!!!

I bought it off ebay in a huff and it looks as if I got screwed!!! Well, maybe not, I do not know yet.

26552 Rev. C268 is all over my card and my searches point to PVR150MCE's.

This may be a blessing in disguise now that I can pursue 150 threads instead of 250.

Does anyone out there have there svideo input from there capture card working with a PVR150MCE? Also, are what version of IVTV are you running? I have the stock 2.0 (rc3j) from R5A16 and am getting the black and white....

Off to search more.

tjc , thanks for your help today.
