Bought a fairly cheap video card to use on the backend (replacing the 4MB Matrox!). It works fine with an LCD monitor, but I want it connected to the TV. Used the S-Video to Composite adapter and the Video input on the TV. I get a picture with no color, and it rolls. Surprisingly what I can see of the video is clear and straight. This is usually the hardest part, the H sync and video resolution. So I thought the adapter must be defective. After tests with another S-Video source (a DVD player) I determined that the adapter, cable, and TV all work OK. THEN I moved it to my desktop computer which has an nVidia GeForce4 MX 4000. That worked, too. So the cheap card is suspect. What is the most suspicious behavior is that it won't do TV out even at boot. Never mind X.

This card is a Kaser GeForce 6200. What I've learned from reading the web is that it's a Fry's brand, and it uses the NV44A core. Typing "Kaser" into a search on this board gives no results, so I wondering if anyone can contribute anything. Otherwise, I guess this would be start of a "Kaser" thread.

By the way, captures will be done with a PVR-150. Someday.
