I bought this
Was this a good purchase? i want to be able to record live tv, and play it back in full or improved quality much like a TiVo. I put a 1.7ghz pentium processor, 512MB ram, Radeon 9200, in the machine thats goign to use this with KnoppMyth and Myth TV.

Questions:
1) What remotes can i use with this? (any in the $1-40 range)
2) What quality should i expect?
3) How does this card compare with others?[/url]

Someone there mentioned it working with MythTv. While remote controls come with tuners, remotes don't rely on tuners in any way correct? A remote is just like a wireless keyboard in some sense? I think i'm going to order this one... any reasons not to?

For some remotes that come with tuner cards, the receiver actually plugs into the tuner card (I have one like this). In this case, you need the card to use the remote. I also have a remote that came with another card whose receiver plugs into a USB socket. In this case, the remote can be used without the tuner card. The one you linked looks like a USB one, so it should work provided it is supported by LIRC.

We've got a lot of users who tune their cable or sattelite boxes with one so I'd say, plenty compatible.
