Post subject: | pvr 150, autodetection seems to fail |
I just got a haupauge pvr 150 and am attempting to get it working with knoppmyth. I haven't set up a mythtv box before so I'm not sure where to go with the problem I'm having. I am able to get the knoppmyth install to work on 2 different boxes with the card installed. On both, it will work fine up until the reboot after the copying files phase. During the bootup sequence it gets to a line "saa7114.c : starting probe for adapter ivtv ic2 driver #0 (0x10005)" And just seems to hang there. it does it on both machines. If I take the card out it will boot past that point and into the graphical myth setup. I'm assuming I need to somehow manually configure the card, or perhaps it's unsupported? I've seen others who seem to have the 150 working so I'm assuming that's not the case. As to how to manually set the card I'm not sure as I can't boot to any sort of prompt with the card installed. Thanks for any help you guys can provide. One system is an amd duron with a nvidia card, the other a dual pIII 500 box win and ati card. |

You may want to try something like this:
- Install without it - Install a newer alpha/beta version of the IVTV driver (0.3.something) - Put the card back in and see if it is dtected properly. |

Hi, Maybe I missed it some where, but what version are working ? I have R5A16 which works and no changes from the original iso. I haven't played with the remote but the pvr-150 gives pictures & can record. Mike |

One model number e.g. "PVR-150" maps to more than one different tuner module. Hauppage or their supplier changes these at a dizzying rate and the driver folks have an ongoing battle to keep up. My 18 month old PVR-250 (tuner type 2) is a very different beast in many ways than the ones you can find on the store shelves today (type 50?). |

Hi, Mine reports a type 50, and is fairly new so maybe that is why it worked. Mike |

I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but I think the ivtv driver issues might be the solution. I looked at their site, and only the .3.x versions support the pvr 150 card. |
