I LOVE THIS SYSTEM !! Thanks to all the developers - and to all the people who have helped me get this far - you all rock !!

I can get live tv to show on the pc - and it looks great - but I cant get it to show on the tv yet. I thought I would be cunning and try to get the tv by using the window in feature of the epg. Well the epg shows fine, but the live tv is blacked out.

(am in uk): pal/pal teletextThe card is a MX4000 and I think I have it set correctly in myth setup -

live tv buffer - 5gb
min free live tv buffer - 50mb
tv format - pal
vbi format - pal teletext
channel frequency - europe west
time offset - none

I am sorry if this is obvious but I have searched the forums (for several hours now) and not found anything yet. Although I have to say the advanced search tool has been very helpful so far..

This is what the terminal shows when I start the mythfrontend:

SIP listening on IP address 192.168.1.4:5060 NAT address 192.168.1.4
SIP: Cannot register: proxy, username or password not set

and this is what the terminal shows when I 'watch tv' :

New DB connection, total: 2
Connecting to backend server 192.168.1.4:6543
using protocol version 15
using protocol version 15
opening audio device /dev/dsp
opening oss audio device /dev/dsp
Using XV port 61
Realtime priority would require SUID as root
Changing from none to WatchingLiveTV
Video timing method: USleep with busy wait

I am guessing that one is ok - so this must be something to do with the config of the mx4000 right. Have searched but not found anything yet. All help appreciated, many thanks in advance.

John

Are you using the nvidia driver (not the nv driver)?

Have you checked the X logs (/var/log/XFree86.0.log) to see if Xv support is working?
