Post subject: | win-tv go card - no sound issues |
I have a win-tv go card and can not get the sound to work. It is recognized and I see video, but there is no sound. Any help? Also how can I minimize cpu use with this card? Can I set the video quality lower or what? Thanks in advance |

I have the same card and the same problem. <edit> Correction, I have a WinTV-Go Plus. At first I thought it was something to do with my encoders. I got everything set up, had my patch cable plugged in, finally got MythTV working with everything, program guides all download, tuner recognized.... but the audio was a couple seconds off... after many hours on google I've found that with the cable set up the way it was, I was watching mythtv's buffered video, and hearing the live audio... When I try to view recorded shows, there is NO audio. I've tried to look into the btaudio module, but can't seem to find configuration settings, or any kind of documentation on how to set it up, but that is ideally what I want to do. Otherwise, I can use my patch cable, but it still doesn't seem to be recording, which is my biggest problem. When I had the patch cable plugged in, I had the mixer set to record line in, and had it unmuted, this was how I could still hear it. So I muted it, which I read will allow me to listen to the buffered version that comes out of mythtv, but I still have no sound. I'm using Fedora Core 4 with kernel 2.6.13.2. Any other information you need, let me know. I'm going back to google. |

Okay. I got this working. The way I did it was to install KnoppMyth with the install CD. Then I had to set up my capture card in modules.conf again, and it seems that I had line1 set to record, but line (with no number) was my sound card's line input. I installed on a new drive, so I'm going to boot to fedora at some point and see if the ALSA mixer will work. ~Jon |
