Post subject: Looking for new remote
PostPosted: Tue Oct 11, 2005 8:18 pm
As the topic states. I am looking to purchase a new remote. The one that comes with my twinhan is good but i want more :)

i would like one that has more uses such as controlling my reciever and tv as well.

so my main aim is to get a more advanced leaning remote, so i can get it to learn the codes from my twinhan as well as my other remote devces. anyone got one they really like?

thanks in advance

ok the second time you've done that cesman a link to the manual for your remote doesn't do us much good. I am actually looking for a good learning remote too. Any idea where one could actually buy this remote, seems radio shack has discontinued them.

I use a sony RM VL900 learning remote

I just taught it the codes from my Happauge remote and it also allows you to assign mutiple keypresses to one button. I have one button that sends an escape to Myth and powers off my TV. It will control 8 devices.

Could you use a standard remote in conjunction with an IR Blaster? I have thought it would be nice for the volume controls on my remote to control the TV volume rather than the mythtv volume. Thats one of the few things I still need my tv remote for.

With the Sony you would just have to program the volume buttons for the TV.
The IR blaster is seperate and would still work the same way it does with the Happauge remote.
