I've found a few step-by-step guides to assist in PVR-150 installation. I believe I've followed them to the letter, but I still cannot get the card working properly.

Right I have no audio, and I am unable to change the channel.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

First bit of meta-advice. We can't help if you don't provide more info.
    - Hardware details
    - Links to the directions you followed50
    - Have you checked the log files to see if the tuner type for your PVR-150 is beig detected properly?
    - Have you searched the forums for things like "pvr 150 no sound" and checked the radio button for "require all words".
    - Have you searched the fourms for things like "pvr 150 won't tune"?

Thanks for the advice...

I added my hardware to my signature so that shoudl show up now.

I followed the setup listed here:

http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5552&highlight=

and also the instructions on the Wiki:

http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=HauppaugeOneFiftyInstallation

When I view /var/log/messages it appears that the PVR-150 is identified and loaded without any errors.

When I use the latest (.4.0) ivtv drivers I have no audio. I backed up to 0.3.8 and now I have both sound and video on one channel only. When I attempt to change channels it appears to try but I end up on the same channel.

When I use firefox to view settings_channels.php it is empty.

When I start mythtv-setup and select Channel Editor I cannot select Scan for channels. When I hit tab the GUI passes the Scan for channels and Advanced buttons without allowing me to select them.

I'm not sure if I'm on the right track. Any advice is appreciated.

- I think there is a more recent walk through that clarifies some of the points in the one MrFahrenheit put together.

- Can you extract the messages using the little sed command i pointed you at and post them? If you haven't already set things up so that you can ssh into the KnoppMyth box and cut & paste to/from your browser session now is the time.

- Have you signed up for and downloaded the program guide info from zap2it? You can't scan for channels with a PVR card, you need to download the information from somewhere. If you're not in the US or CA you need to research the appropriate grabber for your area.

Again, thanks for the help.

The problem was simply that I had not retrieved channels using zap2it. Everything (almost) is working fine now.

My next step is to try to get TV out to work. I switched to the XF86Config-4.nvidia-tvout.smaple file in etc/X11 and had some problems. It looks like I accidently deleted the nvidia sample file when I switched back to the original XF86Config-4. Is there a way to retrieve just this file from the Knoppmyth install CD? If not, if there's anyone who could email it to me I'd appreciate it greatly. My email address is tes5@aol.com

Thanks again...

Thanks for making the guide available. I would not have gotten this far this fast without it...
